Stanley M. Gibson Named to Daily Journal’s 2026 Top 100 Lawyers List

LOS ANGELES — September 30, 2026 — Jeffer Mangels & Mitchell LLP (JMM) is pleased to announce that Stanley M. Gibson, Chair of the Firm’s Patent Litigation Group and Co-Chair of the Litigation Department, has been named to the Daily Journal’s 2026 Top 100 Lawyers list. The recognition highlights Gibson’s more than three decades of trial experience and his work handling high-stakes intellectual property, technology, and complex business litigation. Gibson also serves as Co-Assistant Managing Partner and chairs the Firm’s AI task force.

The Daily Journal’s list is an annual selection recognizing 100 influential attorneys in California for their legal accomplishments, professional leadership, and contributions to the legal community.

Recent Trial Victories and High-Stakes Litigation

Gibson’s recent litigation results include a complete defense verdict in March 2026 for the advisor to a Swiss venture fund in a fiduciary duty lawsuit involving a claim that had grown to more than $300 million by the time of trial. The jury rejected every claim and awarded the plaintiff nothing. Gibson’s defense focused on separating his client’s conduct from the company’s broader history of financial difficulties and demonstrating that the company failed for reasons outside the investor’s control.

In 2024, Gibson led the trial team representing BlueRadios, Inc. in a trade secret dispute against Kopin Corporation, Inc. involving the alleged misappropriation of proprietary Bluetooth technology. The jury returned a $24.8 million verdict, including compensatory damages, disgorgement, and exemplary damages based on findings of malice and willfulness.

Gibson’s prior trial experience includes serving as one of the principal trial lawyers in Medtronic v. Michelson, in which his client, Dr. Gary Michelson, obtained a $570 million result following a multi-month jury trial. The matter was resolved as part of a $1.35 billion acquisition of the Michelson patent portfolio. Gibson has also obtained a $16.7 million arbitration award in a dispute involving the engineering and design of satellites and launch vehicles.
